Charu Shrotri

After his 10th Standard, Charu completed his Tool and Die Making Diploma from NTTF Dharwad from 1979-83 and moved to Pune to seek employment. There he took experience in various Industries for 5 Years later to start his own Business.In these 5 Years he educated himself in all aspects of setting up a Business.
Thus in 1988 he founded Nirmiti Tool Room and Engineers a small rented unit at Bhosari MIDC to serve in the areas of Stamping Dies, Jigs and Fixtures.
Over years it grew to be renamed NirmitiAutoComponents Private Limited Designing and Manufacturing its own Pedal Systems for various Cars with two locations at Pune, one atPantnagar and one under construction atDharwad.
With a Group Sales of INR. 80 Crores and an Employee Strength of more than 250 and prestigious Certifications like TS 16949, OHSAS 18001, a Swedish Collaboration, a high level of Automation and ever expanding Customer base and demands of Customers for multi location facilities in India and Abroad, it was felt necessary to go Public soon and the work began in this direction.

Employees'well being was the priority number one at all times and the Company ensured that each employee owns a house and vehicle and their children graduate. (The well being of Employees combined with strong will of the Management had resulted in success.)
However due to succession issues in this ever growing Business (His only Daughter was married and took to German Teaching) and to pursue his personal hobbies which he couldn't in the working years, instead of listing his own Company in Stock Exchange he sold it to another Listed Company.
Presently he holds a minority stake with his Swedish Collaborator CJ Automotive AB, Sweden. This Company is a leading Pedal System Manufacturer with a group Turn Over of equivalent INR.1200 Crores with Locations in Sweden, Germany, USA, China and South Korea.
He spends his time in pursuing his hobbies of Driving / Traveling across India and Abroad (He says I should have been a Driver and not an Industrialist), Photography, Carpentry, Organic Gardening, Supporting Rural Schools thro Rotary Club and Socialising.
